PRESS RELEASE – The Creative Collective makes its first acquisition!

Buy outs are common in the app and tech world globally, but not so common in the local market place. The Creative Collective however are proud to announce themselves as the new owners of Maleny based business Fig Creative.

“We’ve been in negotiations for a few months now after the former owners approached us, as they were keen to pursue other business interests. They had a good solid client base and lots of future potential so after doing a lot of due diligence, we decided to go for it,” says founder and partner of The Creative Collective, Yvette Adams.

Now in their tenth year of business, The Creative Collective have grown exponentially since 2014 when they disbanded their franchise model, and Adams took former intern, contractor and later franchisee, Katrina Lees, on as a business partner.

“It’s proved to be a really good move. We’re both really ambitious and driven women and by effectively sharing the role of CEO we are able to achieve work life balance around our families given we are both mothers. As anybody who runs a company knows, there is always a lot to do,” says Lees.

Important to us when exploring new horizons, was that the new owners of our company had similar values, ethics, parity in price range and systems, and were located near enough to understand the local market, and could service you in person where required. We’re confident The Creative Collective will be able to service our clients with the same level of care and attention we have provided to date, with even more resources, staff and capabilities in the mix,” says one half of the Fig Creative partnership, Jennifer Perri.

Today the company boasts nine staff spread across offices in Maroochydore and Newcastle, and a wider network of 40 contractors. Adams says acquisitions and mergers were in the company’s strategic plan, and that if this goes well, they may look to do more.

The pair say they hope the acquisition will help assist a whole new client list to achieve online success through the company’s unique ability to not only offer a wide range of marketing services, but also a wide range of digital skills training options both online and offline via their sister company The Training Collective.
