CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN: Australia’s first social enterprise beer!

CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN: Australia’s first social enterprise beer!

We’re super excited to be involved in another crowdfunding campaign, this one involving…beer!

Not only that but it’s Australia’s first social enterprise beer company.

Their first brew is called the Great Barrier Beer and 50% of the profits will go to the Australian Marine Conservation Society, an independent national charity responsible for protecting Australia’s ocean wildlife and their homes for over 50 years. It’s thanks to them the Great Barrier Reef is a recognised marine national park with World Heritage status and by investing in the Good Beer Co on their crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo right now you will become a founding member in a beer company that gives back and to saves the world, one Good Beer at a time.

Drink Beer & Save the Great Barrier Reef!

The first brew from the Good Beer Co will be the Great Barrier Beer.

Great Barrier Beer brings together two of Australia’s best-loved icons – beer and the Great Barrier Reef. Brewed in Bundaberg by Bargara Brewing Company and overseen by a group of beer experts, Great Barrier Beer will be an easy drinking, quality craft beer. Best of all, its profits will go to protecting its namesake through the legendary Australian Marine Conservation Society.

The aim is to raise $100,000 – $60,000 in Great Barrier Beer pre-orders
&
$40,000 in start up funds.
These funds will help the foundersbrew, distribute and promote the Great Barrier Beer.

Future wise the founders will partner with other great craft breweries from around Australia to sell Good Beer that does good and to give every Good Beer-drinking Australian the opportunity to raise money for a great cause simply by raising a glass. They call it drinking socially responsibly!

Who’s behind it?

The Good Beer Co. and Great Barrier Beer are led by James Grugeon. James
has more than 17 years experience in leadership, business development,
advocacy and social and environmental action. He has worked as a board
level strategist, leader and senior manager for a range of public and
private sector organisations, ranging from the UK FTSE 100 to start up
social enterprises and was CEO of the UK’s oldest environmental NGO.

Most recently James drove the successful Better Power consumer action
campaign with campaigning organisation GetUp on behalf of Australia’s
Greenest power company – Powershop (Greenpeace). James helped over
12,500 GetUp members switch their power supplier to renewable energy
backed Powershop, raising over $1.2million for GetUp in the process and
helping Powershop start up in Victoria and NSW, in less than 12 months.
James will work directly with an independent advisory board and
charitable trust.

So what are you waiting for?

Everyone who signs up to the movement and backs the campaign will get Good Beer Co. Founding Member rights. This means taste testing, voting on label designs, an invitation to their AGM party and deciding which beers to get behind and which charities and causes to support next.
