From time to time, we see posts on social media groups or get enquiries from prospective clients confused about which website system is better for a website – WordPress or Wix.
If you’re going to go to the trouble of making a website, the platform you choose to build your website on is an important consideration. You want to make sure you are spending time and money in the right direction and not spinning your wheels on something which is going nowhere.
This is a pretty easy decision from our side of the fence if it’s choosing out of Wix and WordPress.
Wix is a good cheap website platform solution to get some kind of online presence up and running, and your site will certainly look ok from a design perspective. But in terms of features, future growth potential and SEO, it’s limited.
I have made a few websites to help friends out on the Wix platform, just to see what it was capable of, so I can say I’m speaking from experience.… Within around a 6-hour
(see the finished result at www.revivalroom.com.au) as she got absolutely no enquiry via her Wix site (mind you there are lots of factors determining whether you get enquiries or not).…
But the quick answer is, I would never recommend Wix to clients who are serious about getting results online.…
WordPress wins hands down – it’s flexible and can grow with your business, yet still an affordable price point. Given 60% of the world’s websites use WordPress, its a good indication that it’s a good solution too. Safety in numbers as they say.…
