Do you need an eCommerce website built?
Does your current eCommerce website need an upgrade? Are you a startup and need to get a quality eCommerce website up and running working with a team you can trust? Do you need a new mobile responsive ecommerce website to make sure you can rank on Google, and enjoy sales from the majority of users who are more likely to shop online via a mobile (that’s most people by the way)?
The Creative Collective have been creating eCommerce websites since we first launched in 2007 – from single products, to small ranges, to elaborate and highly complex eCommerce sites.
If you would like to work with a team to build your eCommerce website that will make the process stress free, and seamless, you’ve come to the right place.
What is an eCommerce website?
An eCommerce or electronic commerce website is a site which sells stuff. We generally build ecommerce websites on WordPress using WooCommerce, or Shopify.
For years website designers and website development companies have largely tackled eCommerce website projects in the same manner. Take a brief. Start the build. Send the client a link to review. Get feedback. Request content from the client. The eCommerce website develops some more. But overall the process could easily take a few weeks, often a few months. And in the meantime, you’re not online and you’re most certainly not selling.
Clients would get frustrated at how long it would take. Agencies would get frustrated at clients who didn’t supply the content and delayed the project. Clients would get upset about the eCommerce website not looking like or doing what they had hoped for. Agencies would get frustrated about clients who kept moving the goal posts in terms of what they wanted. Our approach to creating eCommerce websites address all of these issues and more.
How does the website build process work?
Our entire eCommerce website process is streamlined into four key stages:
1/ Briefing – we’ll ask you all the questions we need to do the job. From who your target audience are, to what product categories you will have, to what the site will look like, what you want it to rank for and more.
2/ The design phase – we’ll mock up what your site will look like in a design program and send it to you for approval, so when we move to the development phase there are no nasty surprises.
3/ The development phase – we’ll integrate the approved website design on the platform you have chosen – either WordPress or Shopify. We’ll help you make that decision too if you’re not sure. We’ll then add all the agreed features and functionality – be that the way you will transact online i.e. Stripe, Paypal, or a merchant bank; any forms you require, social media integration, review plug ins and more.
4/ Feedback rounds – we’ll send you the draft website to review and have you annotate it on an easy to use online system so you can literally mark what you’d like change and pin it, without explaining it to us via email. This is a lot like putting sticky notes all over the website, so we know exactly what you are talking about. We’ll then take your feedback and mark each item off one by one.
5/ Finalise & go live – once feedback rounds have closed we will schedule to take your website to go live on your chosen domain and chosen hosting (which we offer if you require it). This includes a series of processes at our end, including a range of necessary SEO aspects to ensure your website has a shot at ranking on Google from the get go.
6/ Handover and training – usually once the site is live (but sometimes before it goes live) we will provide you and your team with training so you can build confidence in updating your website – whether that be in adding new products, or making copy or image updates.
