Content Specialist and Junior Account Manager
Marcie Cheers’ passion for writing and marketing has seen her hone her skills and experience from a young age. She completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Communication and Media Studies at the University of Newcastle whilst working at the University’s magazine, Yak Media. Holding roles as both Deputy Editor and later the Editor at the magazine, she had her work published on multiple occasions in Yak online, and Yak magazine.
Gaining her first full-time job in the industry in June 2021 when she was hired as a copywriter and content coordinator for The Marketing GP. Working across a wide range of clients, she liaised with clients to deliver strategic marketing, developed social media strategies, crafted clever web content and met with clients to discuss their marketing needs. During her time at The Marketing GP, she also became SEO Certified with HubSpot & also completed Kate Toon’s Recipe for SEO Success course.
Joining The Creative Collective in September 2023 as a Content Specialist and Junior Account Manager, Marcie Cheers works across a wide range of social media content clients, also producing EDMs, blog posts, doing keyword research and writing SEO focused copy for client’s web pages.
Outside of work, Marcie is an avid reader, and huge music and festival fan. When she’s not devouring a novel in one sitting, you’ll find her at concerts, hanging out with friends, and being followed around by her two dogs, Poppyseed and Sesame. She also loves travel, music and coffee and is the Vice President of Media and Marketing at What Were You Wearing?, a Newcastle-based organization focusing on providing the community with education, awareness and advocacy on sexual violence.
