Startup Weekends
The first ever Start Up Weekend to be run on the Sunshine Coast was a resounding success with over 40 people pitching their start up business ideas in front of 140 spectators on Friday night, with 17 teams forming and launching 17 of the Sunshine Coast’s newest businesses inside just 54 hours. The Creative Collective provided PR, marketing and social media services to the event, achieving over 20 media pieces, with some international coverage of the winning team, VR Smartview. The Creative Collective continues to support the burgeoning community of startups, entrepreneurs, marketers, developers and people interested in all things digital on the Sunshine Coast, by assisting with continued social media/PR and event management support of the Silicon Coast group. We also provided assistance with the first ever Startup Weekend for Kids held in Brisbane September 2014, and the first ever Startup Weekend for Youth being held on the Sunshine Coast in October 2014.
