Spotify Advertising

The Newcastle Show engaged The Creative Collective to provide multi-channel marketing services to raise awareness of, launch and drive attendance to its 121st event. As part of our marketing strategy, we planned and executed Spotify Advertising to bolster Top Of Funnel brand awareness amongst the Show’s target audience in the lead up to the event.
 
The Newcastle Show is an annual event held by The Newcastle Agricultural Horticultural and Industrial Association Inc. at the Newcastle Regional Showgrounds in New South Wales, Australia. As one of the largest regional shows in Australia, the Show strives to create memories across generations and bring communities together through fun, education and entertainment.
 
We wrote and developed two audio ads (15-sec and 30–sec versions) suitable for Spotify Advertising and targeted users within a two-hour drive radius who have interests aligned with the event’s purpose and offering – parenting, health and lifestyle, DIY hobbies and craft, society and culture, love and dating, sports and recreation, cooking and comedy.


With an 86.32% ad completion rate, the results show this was a successful and cost-effective way to reach audiences via a channel that had not been utilised by The Show in previous years.

Key results for the Spotify Advertising campaign included:

  • Impressions: 209,148
    • Cost Per 1,000 Impressions: $7.21
  • Ads Completed: 180,537
  • Cost Per 1,000 Ad Completes: $8
  • Completion Rate: 86.32%
  • Clicks: 131
  • Cost-Per-Click: $11.45

Total Advertising Spend: $1,500
