Newstead House – Website

Newstead House – Website

Newstead House is an iconic Brisbane landmark built on spectacular banks of the Brisbane River with stunning views up and down the Hamilton and Bulimba reaches. Newstead House is Brisbane’s oldest surviving residence, built in 1846 for the Darling Downs pioneer Patrick Leslie and his wife Kate Macarthur and their family.

Over the years, the house has undergone numerous changes of structure and ownership. It was the first property to be protected by an Act of Parliament — Newstead House Trust Act 1939; was listed on the Register of the National Estate in 1978 and placed on the Register of the National Trust of Queensland in 1980. Newstead House is registered with the Australian Charities and Not for Profits Commission, and is a charitable institution with tax deductible status.

Newstead House continues to play a significant role in the local community, as a living museum for all to enjoy.

The organisation had website which was completely inadequate in terms of reflecting the new direction of Newstead House. Everything from colour, layout, content and functionality were out of date. In October 2013, Newstead House sent an Expression of Interest Website Build Brief to The Creative Collective. We were successful in winning the job and prepared the mobile responsive website, as well as doing a photo shoot on location to elevate the overall look and feel of the site.
