Recently I ran a webinar on one of my favourite online success topics, ‘affiliate marketing’. The 60-odd guests online loved learning about how you can monetize your website, blog or email broadcast through the inclusion of banners, buttons and text links by sourcing tracking code from any one of a number of professional affiliate networks, some of which are based here in Australia and some of which are overseas based sites.

On the webinar, I shared the example of my friend Leah Squire of byokids.com.au — who I met at a business awards ceremony back in 2007. We’d both won our respective categories and were on a super high, and when we discovered we were both based on the Sunshine Coast we vowed to stay in touch. I was honoured when Leah asked me to write a foreward in her book Marketing with No Money which came out (when) and love catching up with Leah from time to time to compare notes on what mad-capped entrepreneurial pursuit we each have going on.

I last had Leah speak at a Web Wednesday event back in around 2009, and at it she shared how she built her site up to net her approximately $60k passive income from it per year.

If you think that’s impressive, you’ll be even more impressed to hear that she told me on a phone call last week that she now earns $100k passively a year from affiliate marketing on the site!!!
