Months in the making, a free event for young people called the Inspire Youth Form will take place this weekend, aiming to inspire our region’s young people by placing them in front of a wide range of national and international speakers on a wide range of topics.
Aimed at those between the ages of 12 and 25 years, the event, which is free for young people and just $20 for adults, will take place on Saturday 4 May from 08:45 am to 12:15 noon at the Maroochy RSL.
The goal? To show young people how to live their best lives, gain more confidence and follow their passion (or work out what it is) with parents, caregivers and those working with youth in any capacity also encouraged to attend.
Just some of the incredible speakers featuring at the event include Kim McCosker – creator of the 4 Ingredients cook book series, now the most successful book title in Australia; Yvette Adams a self-confessed serial entrepreneur who has started six businesses, the first a newspaper she created at just 17. Today she runs 3 businesses, is a trainer for Facebook Australia & has her own Young Entrepreneurs show on the Bizversity App where she interviews Australia’s top young entrepreneurs; Nicole Gibson – a Millennial Entrepreneur, Former Mental Health Commissioner, Speaker, Transformational Facilitator & Unifier, but she prefers to be seen as an unstoppable messenger of love and human potential. Author and CEO of Love out Loud and SAMARA WELBOURNE a business Owner, 2014 Young Citizen of the Year, Humanitarian & Social Entrepreneur.
A range of exciting prizes and giveaways are also up for grabs just for showing up!
These include every young person attending being given a $28 ticket to LaserLunacy, a Two for one Ten Pin Bowling ticket, a book on ‘How to find your dream job’, An ‘Ingredients for Success’ book, and more.
All attendees will also be gifted two tickets in a raffle to go in the draw to win a range of prizes including a skate board and skateboard lessons; 10 double movie passes, 2 X $50 vouchers for Sunshine Plaza, 2 x Holy Moly Passes, 2 x Aussie World passes; a family pass to SeaLife; a family pass to the Lions Football at the Gabba … AND one lucky person will even win a two and a half hour Laser Lunacy experience for them and… 49 friends!
Sunshine Coast Council’s Youth Community Development Officer, Tom Murphy says, “This Council supported event is a great opportunity for the young people of the Sunshine Coast to really think about their future, with eight inspirational speakers to engage the audience with their quick sharp TedX style talks. “I’m sure anyone who attends will get a lot out of it,” he says.
The event now in its third year is organised by a passionate group of Sunshine Coast entrepreneurs, whose goal for the event is for young people to leave the event feeling “absolutely alive and inspired to go out and live life to the fullest!”
Event sponsors include Sunshine Coast Council, Maroochy RSL, Volunteering Sunshine Coast and Kim Taylor Ultimate Speakers.
