Queensland Small Businesses benefit from a series of Facebook workshops powered by us!

What a whirlwind week!

At the end of May 2019 we had the pleasure of running five Facebook Community Boost events in five locations around regional Queensland (Gladstone, Bundaberg, Cairns, Townsville and Toowoomba) as part of Queensland Small Business Week.

Recently our founder and partner Yvette Adams was named as one of 8 Facebook Community Trainers and our sister company The Training Collective were excited to partner with Facebook to power all of these events across the state of Queensland.

Here’s the low down of the week that was for those of you who joined us and want to see all the great shots from our time with you, or for those of you who missed it and who are curious to see what you missed out on!

Cairns, Queensland

Blair and Dante (also one of the eight Facebook Community Trainers across Australia & NZ) kicked off the week with a bang in Cairns. We were overwhelmed with interest in this region and the 150 spots we had available were sold out just a week after being made available and a further 10 people turned up on the day to try their luck!

Dante rocked the house with engaging presentations on Digital Trends and Insights + Online Marketing, Growing Your Business (Ads) with Facebook and Instagram Stories School, a highly popular interactive lesson where participants were encouraged to get their phones out and try live Instagram Stories exercises while they learned.

Gladstone, Queensland

Meanwhile Bec & Yvette started the week in Gladstone, home to Queensland’s largest multi-commodity shipping port.

People travelled from as far as 1770, Rockhampton and Biloela for this session where Yvette was the trainer covering the topics of Digital Trends and Insights + Online Marketing , Tools for Creative and Community and Grow Your Business with Facebook Ads.

Guests enjoyed cinnamon and jam donuts as well as a selection of fruit platters and the Gladstone Observer came along to the session to interview attendees and take photos.

Bundaberg, Queensland

After their time in Gladstone, Bec & Yvette hit the road to Bundaberg. Bec (who is originally from Bundaberg) was responsible for the programming of the GPS to get us to Bundaberg…

The Waves Sports Club proved to be a great venue and Bundaberg businesses turned out in force to take their opportunity with almost a sell out audience learning tips and tricks to improve their Facebook & Instagram activities and learning the topics of Content Rules, Growing Your Audience With Insights, Facebook Messenger and Instagram Stories. One guest even travelled 3 hours from the Sunshine Coast just to engage in the session!

Townsville, Queensland

After a mid-week regrouping period, Blair was ready to take off to the Far North of Queensland again, this time to Townsville where he worked with trainer Melissa Westcott to deliver a series of workshops by Facebook.

Townsville businesses were also treated to four free sessions including Online Marketing, Content Rules, Getting Started with Instagram and Tools & Services for Creative Content.

Toowoomba, Queensland

Last but certainly not least Penny & Yvette touched down in Toowoomba on a cold wintery night where they ventured out to an event called DUSK by the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce to make sure as many local businesses as possible were aware of the opportunity to engage in training by Facebook the very next day.

Burke & Wills hosted the local businesses who made it to this session who enjoyed learning about all of Yvette’s favourte Facebook topics namely Grow Your Business (Ads) with Facebook, Growing Your Audience with Insights and Facebook Messenger (her absolute favourite of all!)

The carrot cake was to die for, and a few slices left over may or may not have made their way back to the Sunshine Coast in a takeaway container.

So that’s a wrap!

It was an amazing experience to be out in the regions connecting with hundreds of small businesses and helping them skill up on the Facebook family of products. We’d like to express a sincere thanks to Jasmine, Alisha, Bec, Blair, Penny, Dante, Melissa, Erin and Kat who were all very much a part of making all this happen.
