For starters our director has extensive experience on 'both sides of the fence' having worked for extended periods as both a journalist at publications in various locations around the world, and also as a freelance writer as she literally travelled the world.  On the other side of the fence she's been employed full time to generate PR for companies in various industries including finance and the New Zealand and British Governments. She's also conducted media training and handled media liaison on sometimes sensitive issues.

Other members of our team have degrees in PR, or in event management or PR related areas.  Here's just a few areas of PR we can comfortably assist you with for maximum benefit to you, your company, your product, your event or your brand.

1) Forms of Public Relations you can do on a shoestring budget - contributing articles, speaking at events, awards, press releases, endorsement, testimonials etc.

2) Getting started - Putting together a press kit - how to write a press release - embargoes, editor notes, dates, the importance of design, your bio, samples of your products, photos high and low res, website and whether you should do a hard copy or electronic copy.

3) Hitting your target audience - how to identify them - where to get the contacts, how to contact the contacts, preparing to make contact, making contact, pitching the idea, offering exclusives, dealing with attitude, deadlines, why was your story not used, case studies. Establishing, developing and maintaining a press contact book.

4) Catching the journalists attention - What is the life of a journalist like? What makes a story newsworthy?Ensuring your press submission has the'so what' factor. Gifts and freebies. Stunts and teasers. What are journalists looking for, your media plan, timing, difference, successful case studies.

5) Following up - Following up the press kit/press release, become a source of information, developing the relationship, creating reasons to respond, if the journalist follws up, exploting media coverage.

6) Media training - so they want to interview you - when to do it, how to do it, why to do it.

7) What to do once it's featured - getting hold of the published/broadcast piece. Using it to your advantage, creating your media room/wall of fame/press book. Media begets media etc.

8) When they get it wrong - what can you do. Damage limitation - reasons why you might want to complain, what to do, damage repair

9) Create a killer online newsroom/press room on your website - Making sure your website is journalist friendly. Studies show most online newsrooms fail to meet journalists' needs. Ways to be among the best online resources when reporters come to call.

10) PR v Advertising - which is best - which to use which. Advertorial and editorial. Looking at the media with new eyes.


We work with you on a totally flexible basis. For some clients we provide the education so that you can go off and do the PR yourself. For others we work together with you involved, and learning along the way.  For others we are fully outsourced to conduct the PR role of our clients such as:
